In June of 2007, HazTek Inc. was contracted by a major pharmaceutical company to serve as the owner’s representative in the safety oversight of a large demolition project at its Northern New Jersey facility. Within three weeks, our Contractor Safety Manager’s responsibilities were expanded to include two additional demolition projects and delivery of their daily site-wide contractor orientation training program.
The Virtua Hospital construction project in Voorhees was a 670,000 square foot, $335 Million dollar replacement facility for the old nearby hospital. The new state-of-the-art inpatient facility is connected to a regional ambulatory care facility, a medical office building, a support services building, and a central energy plant; all located on located on a 120-acre lot along heavily travelled Route 73. Due to the size of the project, there are several large contractors working concurrently with approximately 350 to 400 construction workers on site at peak construction.
