This DOT HazMat Basic General Awareness course is an introductory course for all employees involved in the transportation of hazardous materials. This course provides a basic introduction to general awareness compared to the advanced instruction that includes some general awareness topics in greater detail.
All workers employed in an industry that involves the preparation or transportation of hazardous materials, who must have DOT general awareness training. This includes drivers and manufacturers, but also anyone who manufactures, repairs, or reconditions containers used to transport hazardous materials.

Signalperson / Flagger
Being a flagger is the most important job on the work site. Careless use of the sign or distraction from duty can cause serious injury to workers or the motoring public. Performing flagger duties diligently can prevent traffic incidents in the work area. The course includes: identifying the responsibilities of a flagger, describing the proper ways to place signs, describing the proper position for flagging, defining the flagging procedures for stop, slow, and proceed, identifying the correct procedures for various flagging situations, and describing the proper conduct in flagging.
This training does not go into individual state flagger training or certification requirements.
This training is intended for individuals that will be performing or are engaging in flagger duties on construction/maintenance projects
